Taiwan

Taiwan, formally known as Ilha Formosa (which means beautiful island), is considered by its people to be the heart of Asia. Taiwan’s total land area is about 36,000 square kilometers (14,400 square miles). It is shaped like a leaf that is narrow at both ends. It lies off the southeastern coast of mainland Asia, across the Taiwan Strait from China– an island on the western edge of the Pacific Ocean. To the north is Japan; to the south is the Philippines.

Taiwan has a population of almost 23 Million people, 95% of them are polytheistic Buddhists. Most Taiwanese people are devout worshippers of the spirit world due to the fact that they are paralyzed with fear of misfortune. Most Taiwanese people bow down to idols and offer up hopeless prayers to their ancestors. With so many souls, most which are lost, it is clear that the love of Christ and his gospel must reach these needy people as they are spiritually dark and hopeless living without Christ. With a rich culture, heritage, and nation the heart of God pulses in our chests to reach these people with the transforming truth of God’s Word.

It is our prayer to introduce The Heart of God, to The Heart of Asia.
